* There are many coalitions in Holyoke. In spring 2007 a “coalition of coalitions” gathering at Wistariahurst drew over 90 people representing more than 35 coalitions! That sparked efforts to create a resource directory of Holyoke coalitions or a broader resource directory (online) of all services for the people of Holyoke. Both Judy Atkin and Sandy Ward became active on the Web Team for this project which now goes by the name of Holyoke Unites/Holyoke Se Une. Carol Soules of the UMass-Amherst IT Dept collaborated with the Holyoke Unites/Holyoke Se Une Web Team. During Spring semester 2008, several teams of UMass IT students worked with Holyoke non-profit groups to create or improve websites. Another IT team designed a website/directory for Holyoke Unites/Holyoke Se Une, which was launched in April 2008. With the help of interns from Amherst College and Smith College during summer 2008, the website was improved and staff from the agencies were trained to maintain their own entries. It contains information pages in Spanish and English for over 100 organizations serving Holyoke!
